Abstract

Capital expenditure and income distribution are important for macro indicators because these two variables are able to encourage economic growth. This study aims to analyze the effect of capital expenditure and income distribution on the economic growth of 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra. The data used is secondary data from 2011-2020. The analysis technique used is a regression analysis of panel data with an estimate of the Random Effect Model (REM) as the selected model. The results showed that capital expenditure has a negative and significant influence on the economic growth of 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra. Income distribution has a positive and significant effect on the economic growth of 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra. Therefore, local governments have to more explore the potential of each region and maximize their spending allocation properly.
