Abstract
This study aimed to learn the growth response and yield of porang (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume.) given various doses of N, P, dan K fertilizer in a polyculture system with oil palm. This research was conducted at the Oil Palm Research Field, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra (3º13’10.1856’’S, 104º38’21.2748’’E). This research was conducted for 6 months from February 2021 to July 2021. Planting materials used in this study were porang branch bulbils and oil palm aged 15 years. The method used in this research was Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 6 treatments and 3 blocks, there were 5 plants in each treatments unit, so that the total porang plants were 90. The 6 treatments in this study were: Control (P0), 35 g Urea, 17.5 g SP36, 17.5 g KCl (P1), 30 g Urea, 15 g SP36, 15 g KCl (P2), 25 g Urea, 12.5 g SP36, 12.5 g KCl (P3), 20 g Urea, 10 g SP36, 10 g KCl (P4),15 g Urea, 7.5 g SP36, 7.5 g KCl (P5). The results showed that the application of N, P, dan K nutrition (Urea, SP36, KCl) had a significant effect on the number of porang bulbils. The dose of fertilizer did not significantly affect to the height, stem diameter, number of leaves, greenness of the leaves, and the weight of porang tubers. The best of fertilizer treatment for porang cultivation in polyculture systems with oil palm was 25 g Urea, 12.5 g SP36, 12.5 g KCl for each porang plant.
