Abstract

Demam tifoid adalah penyakit berat berupa infeksi sistemik akut yang terutama mengenai sistim retikuloendotelial, jaringan limfoid intestinal, dan kandung empedu yang disebabkan oleh kuman Salmonela thypi dan para thypi. Terapi utamanya adalah menggunakan kloramfenikol. Penelitian ini sendiri bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan kloramfenikol untuk terapi demam tifoid serta mengetahui interaksi obat yang mungkin terjadi dari kombinasi dengan obat lain. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat dr. Mohammad Hoesin (RSMH) Palembang pada bulan Maret 2006 dengan metode survei menggunakan data skunder dari Rekam medis 80 pasien demam tifoid yang dirawat pada ruang rawat inap di Bagian Penyakit Dalam RSMH Palembang mulai 1 Januari 2004 sampai dengan 31 Desember 2005. Hasil penelitian menunjukan dari 80 orang pasien demam tifoid 44 orang (55%) adalah lakilaki jdanJ36^orang (45%) merupakan, perempuan dengan rata-rata pasien terbanyak adalah berusia antara16-25 tahun(35%), kemudian 6-15 tahun, >35 tahun, Kata kunci : Demam tifoid, kloram fenikol, infeksi akut
