Abstract

Angka cakupan pemberian ASI eksklusif menurun salah satunya dikarenakan pengetahuan ibu yang masih kurang tentang pentingnya ASI diberikan secara eksklusif. Rendahnya cakupan tersebut dapat mempengaruhi tingginya jumlah kematian anak yang disebabkan penyakit infeksi, maka peneliti ingin meneliti hubungan antara pengetahuan ibu tentang ASI eksklusif dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif di Puskesmas Merdeka Palembang. Metode: Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah suatu penelitian analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional yang melaporkan persentase ibu yang memberikan ASI eksklusif, kolostrum, pengetahuan ibu, dan hubungan antara pengetahuan ibu tentang ASI eksklusif dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua ibu yang datang membawa bayi ke Puskesmas Merdeka Palembang 2011. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan memberikan kuesioner kepada ibu dan hasil penelitian disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan narasi menggunakan SPSS 18. Hasil: Ditemukan persentase ibu yang memberikan ASI eksklusif kepada bayinya sebesar 68.7%, pemberian kolostrum sebesar 85.9%, dan pengetahuan ibu tentang ASI eksklusifsebesar 65.6%. Kesimpulan: Pengetahuan ibu mempunyai hubungan yang bermakna terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif, dimana pengetahuan yang dimiliki ibu memiliki peluang 3.667 kali berpengaruh terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif dibandingkan dengan ibu yang kurang memiliki pengetahuan, dan tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna antara pengetahuan ibu dengan pemberian kolostrum.
