Abstract
COVID-19 disease can be spread through public places, one of which is the market. The market is a location that has the potential to spread COVID-19 which must pay attention to the hygiene and sanitation aspects of public places. Technically, sanitation includes three elements, among others: waste water, solid waste, and environmental drainage. The purpose of this study was to analyze the market for sanitation hygiene facilities in the prevention of COVID-19 at Sekip Ujung Market. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Information was collected through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. Informants in this study amounted to 12 people. Analysis of the data used is content analysis. Validation test is carried out through triangulation of sources, methods and data. The results of the study indicate that this market has attempted to provide sanitation facilities, but some things are not in accordance with the standards of the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2020 concerning Healthy Markets. Clean water facilities are not tested regularly every 6 months, toilet facilities lack ventilation and lighting, the distance between toilets and food and food vendors is less than 10 meters, lack of garbage disposal, drainage is not covered with a grid from metal, and only 1 handwashing station available, not easily accessible to traders and buyers in the Market for the implementation of health protocols. Disinfection has not been carried out regularly (at least 3 times a day) in shared areas, the use of masks is not applied according to government recommendations, does not maintain hand hygiene by using a hand sanitizer, and for social distancing facilities there are no markers on the floor and information media in accordance with Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 382 of 2020. The suggestion of this research is for the market to complete/improve/add several sanitation facilities, especially those that are directly related to the prevention of COVID-19.
