Abstract
The research had been done to know the morphometry of grasshopper (Orthoptera: Acrididae) from two different locations. The method which was used is survey method. The sampling used roaming technique. The data analyzed by using Principal Component Analysis. The results of this research find nine species those are Oxya chinensis, Acrida ungarica, Chorthippus biguttulus, Acrida conica, Melanoplus femurrubrum, Locusta migratoria, Valanga nigricornis, Xenocatantops humilis, Conocephalus fasciatu. The allometric pattern is positive (slope>0,3) on each grasshopper characters there is only in species from plantation of Agriculture Faculty Unsri Indralaya, plantation of Sukapindah society is the abdomen length (PADM). Body length character (PT), head length (PK), thorax length (PTR), front wing length (PSD), and back wing length (PSB) and thorax height (TTR), and abdomen length (PADM), front wing length (PSD), and back wing length (PSB) plantation of Agriculture Faculty and plantation of Sukapindah society show negative allometric (slope< 0,3). Body length character (PT), and femur limb length (PTBF) and femur limb length (PTBF) plantation of Agriculture Faculty and plantation of Sukapindah society having an isometric growth pattern (slope = 0,3). The information of this research result wish that could be the alternative of contextual example for biology learning class in ten grade of senior high school in Basic Competence 3.2 analyzing observation result data about various biodiversity level (gen, species and ecosystem) in Indonesia and also for its threat and preservation.
