Abstract
This research explained the strategy by the Premier League as a company to maintain its revenue during the Covid - 19 pandemic , particularly in 2019-2020 . In 2020 , Covid - 19 began spreading in the United Kingdom ( UK ) , and becoming the second - highest spread in Europe after Russia . The impact of the COVID - 19 pandemic has led to maty degradations in various sectors , including Premier League . Football matches have been held without live spectators at the stadium since March 2020 due to the growing spread of the virus and the UK government's lockdown policy . Premier League made a business strategy that could adapt to pandemic conditions . This research used descriptive and qualitative literature study methods to obtain credible data , such as from books , journals , websites , and reports . The theories that used in this research are liberalism and the market commitment model as the foundation to analyzed the strategy by the Premier League . As a result , Premier League revenues remained the highest among other European leagues despite the degradation that happened . This is inseparable from the strategy used , including performance , service hustle , price , and emotions sectors . It includes strategies carried out in the broadcasting sector both within the domestic and global scope , facility upgrades , commercial cooperation , and interaction with fans .
