Abstract
Technological developments in agriculture are growing rapidly, one of which is hydroponic cultivation technology. Hydroponic systems are emerging as an alternative to farming on limited land. Kemaro Island Hydroponics Palembang is a farm that is engaged in the production, marketing and fulfillment of hydroponic vegetable needs in Palembang City. In order for the business process to run well, the right development strategy is needed to get maximum results and income so that the business is profitable. The aims of this study were: (1) to measure the knowledge, attitudes and skills of hydroponic vegetable agribusiness actors on Kemaro Island, Satu Ilir Village, Palembang City, (2) to describe the role of assistants in the development of hydroponic vegetable agribusiness on Kemaro Island, Satu Ilir Village, Palembang City, (3 ) Formulating a strategy for developing hydroponic vegetable agribusiness on Kemaro Island, Satu Ilir Village, Palembang City. This research was conducted on Kemaro Island, Ilir Timur II District, Satu Ilir Village, Palembang City, South Sumatra. Determination of this location is done intentionally (purposive).. Data collection was carried out in February - March 2022. The research method used in this study was a survey method. Sampling samples in this study were hydroponic vegetable farmers on Kemaro Island, Palembang. The sample selection used was simple random sampling. The results showed that (1) the behavior of hydroponic vegetable farmers on Kemaro Island Palembang was measured based on 3 indicators, namely knowledge, attitudes and skills included in the high criteria with a total score of 37.26 (2) The role of companions in the development of hydroponic vegetable agribusiness on Kemaro Island Palembang gives very good results. This is because there is a companion role that includes various aspects of the role that has been carried out including the role of facilitator, educator role, liaison role and technical role to have an impact on hydroponic vegetable farmers both in terms of capital, knowledge and Agribusiness activities themselves. (3) The IFE matrix shows that Hydroponics Kemaro Island Palembang has been able to take advantage of strengths to overcome weaknesses with a total value of 3.04 and the EFE matrix shows Hydroponics Kemaro Island Palembang has been able to take advantage of opportunities to overcome threats with a total value of 3.10 The SWOT matrix quantitative approach shows Hydroponics Kemaro Island Palembang is in quadrant I, namely the SO (StrengthOpportunities) strategy. The formulation of the strategy on the SWOT diagram produces alternative strategies that are in accordance with the farming conditions, namely: increasing production and increasing the types of vegetables produced to meet consumer demand and maintaining the benefits of the existing content in hydroponic vegetables.
