Abstract

The aim of this study is determining whether there is a the relationship of personality trait conscientiousness and self-compassion in college students who do not graduate on time. The study is that there is a relationship between self-compassion and conscientiousness. Participants in this study were 154 college students who do not graduate on time in Indonesia. Sampling in this study using incidental sampling technique. The study measurements self-compassion scale that refers to aspects from Neff (2003) and personality traits conscientiousness thet refers to aspects from McCrae dan Costa (2003). Hypothesis testing was conducted using person’s product moment correlation analysis. Statistical analysis completed by using pearson product moment correlation. The result of the correlation analysis between self-compassion with conscientiousness showed the p-value = 0,000 (p<0,05) and r = 0,717. It means that there is asignificant positive relationship between self-compassion with conscientiousness. Therefore the hypothesis of this study is accepted.
