Abstract

Diarrhea disease is closely linked to nutritional status, especially among children under five because of the synergistic interaction. Diarrrhea can aggravate nutrition disorder dan nutrition disorder can aggravate diarrhea. The reseach was conducted to determine the comparative incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 2-12 months with good nutritional status dan nutritional disorders in Boom Baru Primary Health Center Palembang. This reseach use an analytical study with a cross sectional design. The reseach was conducted at Boom Baru Primary Health Center Palembang in October until December 2011. The samples of this reseach was some infants aged 2-12 months whose mothers get health Service at Boom Baru Primary Health Center period October until December 2011. The samples collected were 53 infants. Data obtained fforn interviews on the baby’s mothers and data were analyzed used t-test. The result from this reseach obtained 33 infants (62.3%) with diarrhea. Baby with nutritional disorder obtained 13 infants (86.7%) with diarrhea and baby with good nutritional status obtained 20 infants (52.6%) with diarrhea. Total episodes diarrhea with good nutritional status were 71 times with mean 1.87 �} 1.36 and nutritional disorder were 32 times with mean 2.16 �} 2.49 incidence of diarrhea. Analytical result found (p = 0.003) it can be concluded that there were significant difference in incidence of diarrhea in infants with good nutritional status and nutritional disorders in Boom Baru Primary Health Center Palembang.
