Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lama penyimpanan dan kematangan buah yang optimum. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Teknologi Benih, Rumah Bayang Jurusan Budidaya Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya, Indralaya. Pelaksanaan Penelitian dimulai pada bulan Juni 2009 sampai September 2010. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang disusun secara faktorial dengan dua faktor perlakuan tiga ulagan. Faktor perlakuan terdiri dari kematangan buah dan lama penyimpanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa benih yang baik pada kematangan buah (6 bulan) dan disimpan 21 hari masih menghasilkan keseragaman tumbuh dan kecepatan berkecambah yang tinggi.
