Abstract

Pupil merupakan faktor yang penting dalam sistem optik dari penglihatan. Ukuran diameter dan lokasi dari pupil penting dalam menentukan keadaan refraksi mata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan diameter pupil antara mahasiswa berkacamata dengan mahasiswa tidak berkacamata di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sriwijaya. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif analitik. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah sebagian mahasiswa pada populasi yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan terpilih secarapurposive random yaitu sebesar 64 orang. Menunjukkan rerata diameter pupil mahasiswa berkacamata adalah 4,32 mm. Rerata diameter pupil mahasiswa tidak berkacamata adalah 3,52 mm. Hasil uji t tidak berpasangan antara mahasiswa berkacamata dan mahasiswa tidak berkacamata dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% diperoleh nilai signifikasi (p) adalah 0,000. Dari hasil uji t tidak berpasangan dengan indeks kepercayaan 95% didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa adanya perbedaaan bermakna diameter pupil antara mahasiswa berkacamata dengan mahasiswa tidak berkacamata di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sriwijaya.
