Abstract
Background: Immunization is the most effective primary prevention to the infection disease. The percentage of mother’s knowledge about the immunization schedule to their baby is low. There is also a tendency where the earliest the baby accept the immunization, a possibility the baby gets the full immunization status is higher. There is unknown data so far about the correlation between the first time the child gets the immunization with the full immunization status. The above reasons are the interest of the researcher decides to make a research. Purpose: To prove whether there is or there is no correlation between the first time the child gets the immunization with the full immunization status. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in January 2013 at Puskesmas Merdeka Palembang which included the 43 mothers and their children aged 12-24 months who come to Puskesemas Merdeka in January 2013. Results: thirty five children (81.3%) got their first immunization at < 2 months of age, and 8 (18.6%) got their first immunization at > 2 months of age. Fifteen (34.8%) children had full immunization status and 28 (65.1%) didn’t have a full immunization status* There is no correlation between the first time the child gets the immunization with the full immunization status, with x2 = 3.5 (p > 0.05). Conclusion: There is no correlation between the first time the child gets the immunization with the full immunization status.
