Abstract

Depression is one of mood disorders that often occurs in human's daily life. But, somctimes even people who are depressed don't take their condition seriously enough. In times to reach maturity, many changes may occur in someone's life. The period of transition from school to college years, from a student to a colleague, and when a man eventuaily has to face a time when his mini thesis will be assessed to determine whether he's passed to graduate or not may contribute as a risk factor for depression. Hence, the objective o f the study was to assess how great a work of a mini thesis as a stressful event and other contributing factors may cause depression in college students. The design of this survey is cross-sectional and the population will be 104 medical students of Faculty of Medicine University of Sriwijaya Class 2006 Non-Regular.
