Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the influence of variables of debt to equity ratio, return on assets and firm size to dividend payout ratio on the banking sector companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sampling technique in banking sector listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange by us ing purposive sampling method.From 43 listed companies, aquired 9 companies that meet the specified criteria on the research period from 2012 to 2016. Data analysis technique used in this research is regression by using panel data. Th e result of the research partially shows that debt to equity ratio doesn't have any influence to dividend payout ratio,return on assets has negative and significant effect to dividend payout ratio and firm size has negative and insignificant to dividend payout ratio. While the result of the research simultaneously shows that variable of debt to equity ratio, return on assets and firm size influenced the dividend payout ratio. The implication of this research is the company must maximize the use of company's profit in order to improve cash dividend distribution to investor. Further research, it is suggested to add other independent variables such as current ratio and cash position.
