Abstract
The development of rubber plantations in South Sumatra is still very much needed, espe-cially to support and increase regional income. The problem that is often encountered in land use activities is the ability of the land to be used continuously. This research was conducted in March – July 2022 in Mulyo Rejo Village,Sungai Lilin District, Musi Banyuasin Regency which aims as an alternative reference and recommendation in the process of developing agricultural land, so that the existing land in the area can be utilized optimally and sustainably. The method used in this study is a survey method (direct observation) and then analyzed in the laboratory. This study uses a detailed level soil survey with a scale of 1: 5000 on the research area of ± 10 Ha. Determination of the sampling point with a grid system, the sample points are taken as many as 10 points with each sample point representing ± 1 Ha. The actual land suitability at the research site shows that based on the matching method, the land suitability class for oil palm and rubber plants is S2f or quite in accordance with the limiting factor for nutrient retention. Land suitability for oil palm and rubber plants can increase the land suitability class to reach S1 (very suitable) by overcoming the limiting factor of nutrient retention (Soil pH) It is recommended to make efforts to improve land management, especially on nutrient retention (Soil pH). such as lime and organic matter
