Abstract

Gagal ginjal kronis merupakan suatu penyakit di mana terjadi kerusakan nefron yang ireversibel dan parah. Salah satu cara untuk mempertahankan hidup pasien tersebut adalah dengan melakukan terapi hemodialisis yang memiliki manifestasi di rongga mulut, salah satunya pada gingiva. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara terapi hemodialisis pada pasien gagal ginjal kronis dengan status gingiva. Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Sebanyak 42 sampel di Instalasi Hemodialisis RSUP Dr. Moh. Hoesin Palembang diperiksa dengan menggunakan indeks PBI dan HYG, yang terbagi menjadi beberapa kelompok berdasarkan lamanya menjalani hemodialisis, yaitu kelompok 3 tahun sebanyak 5 sampel, kemudian data diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 16 sampel (38,09%) memiliki skor PBI baik, 25 sampel (59,52%) memiliki skor PBI sedang, dan 1 sampel (2,39%) memiliki skor PBI buruk. Berdasarkan uji Chi-square diketahui terdapat hubungan bermakna antara terapi hemodialisis yang dilakukan oleh pasien gagal ginjal kronis dengan status gingiva (p value: 0,002). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara terapi hemodialisis dengan status gingiva dan berdasarkan hasil ini, disarankan, baik kepada pasien maupun keluarga pasien, yang menjalani terapi hemodialisis untuk menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut, dalam hal ini keadaan gingiva, untuk mencegah teijadinya kerusakan yang dapat menurunkan kualitas hidup.
