Abstract

Craniomaxillofacial trauma is trauma that occurs in part or a combination of several serious injuries including intracranial, spinal, and injuries to both the upper and lower parts of the body. CMF trauma is also correlated with causing both temporary and long-term morbidity. Craniomaxillofacial trauma cases are one of the biggest contributors to morbidity, especially in Indonesia. The research design is descriptive observational. Secondary research data from medical record data of craniomaxillofacial trauma patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang plastic surgery department. The distribution in patients was male (85.7%), the most age group was 15-59 years (68.6%), the most common cause of traffic accidents (71.4%), the most length of stay was ≤ 3 days (51.4%), the most trauma to the middle region of the face (47.6%) the most diagnosed was mandibular fracture (40%). The level consciousness with GCS was 14-15 (97.1%), the FISS scale was 0-5 (94.3%). The most onset was ≤ 1 day (57.2%), the most outcome was occlusion (85.7%). Compared to women, men are the main contributor to the craniomaxillofacial trauma, the common etiology was traffic accidents in the age range 19-59 years. Judging from the onset to the treatment, it was found that occlusion mainly maintained with ORIF, was not much affected and was reflected in the hospitalization was not too long, the main diagnosis being mandibular fractures. The common type of CMF trauma was in the mid-face, with the highest GCS values at 14-15, the common FISS in the 0-5 range. Keywords: Characteristics of Craniomaxillofacial Trauma, , etiology, hospitalization, GCS, FISS.
