Abstract

The aims of this study were to: (1) To determine the characteristics of plasma oil palm farmers and independent oil palm farmers. (2) To find out the Palm Oil Marketing Channels between Plasma Farmers and Independent in Mekar Jadi Village, Sumgai Lilin District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. (3) To know the Palm Oil Institutions, marketing functions, farmer's share, and marketing efficiency between plasma farmers and independent smallholders in Mekar Jadi Village, Sungai Lilin District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. This research has was carried out from January to March 2022. The sampling method used is the unbalanced layer sampling method by taking 15 sample farmers from each layer. The location selection was done purposively. The sampling method used are simple random sampling. The number of samples taken was 30 out of 97 oil palm farmers who are members of KUD Mitra Tani. The data collected in the form of primary data and secondary data. Are independent famers marketing through collectors of 2,300.00 /Rp/Kg/6 months and plasma farmers do marketing at a price of 2,550.00 /Rp/Kg/6 months. And the marketing efficiency of plasma farmers is not efficient. Because it does not meet the requirements, namely being able to deliver results or products from producers to consumers at the lowest possible cost and able to make a fair distribution to all parties involved in the production and marketing of products.
