Abstract

Early marriage is a marriage involving one or both parties who are still children or under the age limit of adulthood. There is an impact of marriage at an early age, namely, the vulnerability to domestic violence, the occurrence of divorce, limited freedom to develop oneself, drop out of school, can also affect the way of parenting after marriage. Therefore, knowledge is needed to be able to prevent the impact of early marriage on adolescents. One effort to influence knowledge about this is by providing health education. Health education can be presented through complex electronic media such as web applications. This study aims to determine the effect of using web applications on adolescents' knowledge about the risks of early marriage. Was a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design with sampling using cluster sampling technique. The number of samples in this study were 42 teenagers at SMK N Tugumulyo Musi Rawas. Adolescents' knowledge about the risk of early marriage was measured from a knowledge questionnaire. Statistical analysis in this study used the Wilcoxon test. Based on the results of the analysis, a p value of 0.000 (α ≤ 0.05) was obtained which indicates that web application media has an effect on adolescents' knowledge about the risks of early marriage. Therefore, providing education through web application media is effective in increasing youth's knowledge about the risks of early marriage because it is attractive and easy to access, so that the media can be used as a medium for health education.
