Indonesia is a developing country with a level of personal hygiene and environtmental sanitation are still relatively Iow, then the risk for the occurrence of infectious disesases is still high enough. One of them is urinary tract infeclion (Uji), UTI is oflen a silent infection in which clinical symptoms appear when the infection has been recently further, even after no complications. Enforcment rapid and precise diagnosis and the selection of antimicrobials based sensitivity test isolates germs will very useful in the eradication of antimicrobial resistance. The purpose of this study was to identify the types of bacteria that cause UTI and the most common pattem of sensitivity to the multiple antimicrobials. This research is a descriptive study using secondary data.Data taken from all relevant medical records of patients that do urine culture in Mohammad Hoesin hospital Palembang for 1 year (January-December 2012). Based on this study, 1.556 patients with bacterial cultures >100.000 cfu/ml. 825 patients (53%) were ma e, 731 (47%) female patients. The most patient UTI is age group 1- 10 years of age is 341(21,91%) patients and the age group 51-60 years there are 253 patients (16,26%).Escherichia coli is the most common cause of UTI for all age groups and genders.Escherichia coli has the fiighest sensitivity to antimicrobials imipinem by percentage (95,40%). This bacteria has the fiighest resistance to antimicrobials eritromycin, tetracycline, ampicilin sulbactam but, still sensitive to antimicrobial imipinem, meropenem, fosfomysin, and penicillin G.
