Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the peer tutoring model to students' communication and collaboration skills in Civics learning at MAN 1 OKU Timur. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method consisting of an experimental class and a control class. The population in this study was all of class X with a total of 427 students, with a research sample of class X.6 and X.9 totaling 72 students taken using a non-probability technique of purposive sampling. Data collection techniques in this study used a Likert scale questionnaire, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of this study, the application of the peer tutoring model affects students' communication and collaboration skills. This is proven based on the results of hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test with the help of SPSS version 26 obtained a significant value of 0.00 with a value (α) of 0.05. Thus the results obtained are sig. 0.00 <0.05 then the decision taken is that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of applying the peer tutor model to the communication skills and cooperation of students in Civics learning at MAN 1 OKU Timur.
