Abstract

One of the causes of work accidents that are fatal is electric shock. Based on statistical data, there were 3-5 percent of deaths in 1000 cases which occurred every year in the work environment due to electric shock. The workplace of a substation is an electrical installation that has equipment ranging from high-to-medium tension. PLN Air Anyir Bangka Substation is one of the largest in distributing the electricity to Bangka society, so the hazard identification is needed in order to ensure the workers’ and other people’s safety in the workplace. This research was a qualitative research by using HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control) method. The subject of this research was by interviewing informants where the informants were chose by using Purposive Sampling method. Risk control was done after the data analysis of hazard risk assessment was obtained. The results of this study showed that the hazard of the work activities at PLN Air Anyir Bangka mostly caused by the electric hazards and the most risky was caused by electric shock. The risk assessment showed that there were 6 potential hazards which had high risk level, 25 potential hazards had medium risk level and 17 potential hazards had low risk level. The control suggested were OHS training, using safety sign of OHS, APD such as rubber gloves, safety shoes, safety helmet, mask and body harness. Hazard identification at PLN Air Anyir Bangka Substation was good. The hazard at PLN Air Anyir Bangka Substation was generally comes from electric hazard, therefore PLN Air Anyir Bangka Substation should improve the supervision of workers who break the rules and do the safety talk.
