Abstract
Anabas testudineus was one of swamp fish which has begun to be developed into aquaculture comodities. One of the obstacles in Anabas testudineus farming cycle requires quite large feed meal and production cost. Fishmeal is one of the main ingredients in commercial feed as an animal protein ingredient and is referred to as an ingredient. One of the alternative ingredients that can be used for fishmeal substitution is maggots. The high protein content of maggots in maggot flour can be used in the manufacture of fish feed and the percentage of different maggot flour in feed formulations is able to provide different growth responses in betok fish. This study aims to determine the best percentage of maggot meal to replace common fish feed and it had effective growth and survival rate of Anabas testudineus. The research was carried out from Maret to Mei 2022. This study used is a completely randomized design (CRD) consisted of 5 treatments and 3 replications namely P0 (use of maggot meal 0%), P1 (use of maggot meal 9.5%), P2 (use of maggot meal 19%), P3 (use of maggot meal 28.5%) and P4 (use of maggot meal 38%). The results showed that P1 is the best result with climbing perch length growth of 0.58 cm, growth weight 1.05 g, feed efficiency of 46.87%, protein efficiency ratio of 1.49 and survival of 100%. The results of water quality measurements during the study was temperature ranged from 27.3-29.9°C, pH ranged from 6.5-6.8, and dissolved oxygen ranged from 4.40-5.56 mg L-1.
