Abstract
One of the obstacles in fish aquaculture activities is the being of disease attacks. One of the commonly diseases that attack fresh water is motile aeromonas septicemia caused by Aeromonas hydrophila. Nile tilapia is one of the types of freshwater fish that is most favoured by the community. Efforts to prevent Aeromonas hydrophila attacks by utilizing natural ingredients such as Peperomia pellucida. Peperomia pellucida contains saponin, alkaloid, tannin, flavonoid and triterpenoid that act as antimicrobial and antibacterial. This study aim’s to determine the effect of Peperomia pellucida leaves extract added to feed with different concentrations in preventing motile aeromonas septicemia in nile tilapia. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of three treatments with three replications and positive control. Positive control was that the fish were infected and not fed with Peperomia pellucida leaves extract. P1 was Peperomia pellucida leaves extract 75 mg kg-1 feed and infected. P2 was Peperomia pellucida leaves extract 100 mg kg-1 feed and infected. P3 was Peperomia pellucida leaves extract 125 mg kg-1 feed and infected. Based on the results of research that has been done, the addition of Peperomia pellucida leaves extract to the feed as much as 75 mg kg-1 is the best result which is characterized by the low prevalence value of fish affected by disease, namely 12.5%, the survival of the highest nile tilapia which is 95.83%.
