Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of self acceptance and optimism towards life satisfaction of early adults who are not in a romantic relationship. This study showed that there are self acceptance and optimism role on early adults' life satisfaction who are not in a romantic relationship. This study used quantitative method with 154 early adults who are not in romantic relationship as the respondents. This study used purposive sampling as the sampling technique. This study used self acceptance scale which referred to 2006's Carson and Langer aspects, optimism scale which referred to 2006's Seligman dimensions, and life satisfaction scale which referred to 1961's Neugarten et al components as the measurement tools. This study used multiple regression technique for the analysis. The results of the analysis showed that R square value between self acceptance and optimism simultaneously 0,308 towards life satisfaction. Meanwhile, F value is 33.671 and significance value is 0,000 (p<0,05). Those numbers showed that there is significant roles between self acceptance and optimism towards life satisfaction. Therefore, the proposed hypothesis in this study is acceptable.
