Abstract
This research is entitled "The Bari House Museum Balaputra Dewa Museum (1933-1982)". The problem of this research is how the history of the limas house in Palembang became the first museum during the Dutch colonial occupation in Palembang. The purpose of this study is to explain how the development of the Rumah Bari Museum during the Dutch colonial occupation to the independence of Indonesia. In this study, the method used is a historical research method which includes heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and histography. Data collected through observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The results obtained from this study are the Bari House Museum is a museum founded by the Dutch colonial government in 1933. The building of the museum is a traditional Palembang house, namely the limas house, in the museum building there are two pyramid houses connected. Each of these houses previously belonged to Prince Syarif Ali and Prince Abdurrahman Al-Habsyi. The house had a long journey and changed ownership until it finally fell into the hands of the Dutch colonial government. After the Bari House Museum was established, there was a lot of research and collection of goods carried out by the Dutch government. Until the time of independence, the Rumah Bari Museum did not run according to its purpose, which in the end resulted in the expansion of the Palembang mayor's office which required the museum to be dismantled and moved. With the Bari House Museum, it became the foundation and forerunner of the present Balaputra Dewa Museum.
