Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of fear of crime among women victims of sexual harassment. The hypothesis in this study is that there is an image of fear of crime in women who are victims of sexual harassment. Respondents in this study were 153 female victims of sexual harassment in Indonesia. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used in this study is the Fear of Crime Scale the researchers compiled with a validity of 0.920. The validity test was carried out using the correlated item total correlation technique using the IBM SPSS Statistics 16 for windows software. The results of the study show that the majority of women victims of sexual harassment in Indonesia have a high level of Fear of Crime as seen from the results of the categorization that has been carried out. Futhermore, subjects in this research often experienced direct harassment in the form of verbal abuse such as being whistled, receiving sexual comments or gossip, sexual jokes, sexual invitations, implicitly threatening comments.
