Abstract

The extruder machine is made to provide ease of operation of the extruder automatically, powerfully and accurately. In the cooling process in this study using a cooling fan based on the Arduinouno microcontroller. Where Arduino is designed to facilitate the use of the controller system in order to adjust the fan rotation speed of the extruder engine cooling system. The design of this product begins with the creation of a design concept, then continues with the selection of concepts to produce a variety of design concepts. Based on the calculations and the design process, the tool is designed using Solidworks. The author uses PP (PolyPropylene) plastic pellet material which has a melting point of 165˚. After knowing the temperature used, then proceed with selecting the type of fan cooler which uses 4 fan coolers as coolers. After extruding on the extruder machine, the PP plastic pellets will come out through the nozzle and continue with the cooler and filament winder. after extruding, a cooling process is carried out using a fan cooler that has been designed and designed, so that a solid filament measuring approximately 1.75 mm from pla plastic pellets is formed which is inserted through the hopper. After carrying out the cooling process, the authors conclude that the fan cooler is an important part because it will affect the thickness of the filament. In this section, it is necessary to pay attention to the experimental test data, namely in the form of physical results from the filaments that have been extracted using an extruder machine using variations of different motor speeds. From the results it can be seen that the diameter is not fully stable along the resulting filament. From the results obtained data on the speed of the motor used, the speed of the fan used and also the diameter of the filament, the average value is taken because the diameter along the resulting filament is still unstable.
