Abstract

Backgroitnd : One of the latest development of composite resin is the existence of nanofilled composite resin. The uses ofthis type of composite resin still need the a lot of r esearch, one of t hem is about the surface roughness. Strawberry is best believed to bleach the stained teeth. As the natural bleaching agent, the effect of strawberry towards the surface roughness of nanofilled composite resin is need to be researched. Purpose : The purpose of this research is to know the effect of strawberry paste as the natural bleaching agent towards the surface roughness of nanofilled composite resin. Method : The 18 samples will be divided into 3 groups which will be soaked into artificial saliva and carbamide peroxide (A), artificial saliva and strawberry paste (B), and artificial saliva (C). The samples will be soaked for 3 days, and each day there will be any measurements of surface roughness of the samples. Surface roughness measurement used Komatsu Surface Roughness tester and the comparison of surface roughness is tested using One Way Anova. Result : There ’s a significant increase of surface roughness of A group about 0.119 p m on the third day. The increase of surface roughness of B group is 0.206 pm on the third day. The C group is increased about 0.111 pm on the third day . Conclusion : There ’s a significant effect of strawberry paste as the natural bleachinga gent towards the surface roughness of nanofilled composite resin.
