Abstract

Water is an essential matter in life, no living thing in this world that do not reguire water. Water is very important especially for residents who live in drainage basin. In addition lo meeting the needs of households, the river water is also used as water sources. This is happens also to the villagers that utilizes Rasau River Musi river waterfor their daily needs as well as to the source of drinking water. The quality of drinking water greatly affect health including dental health especially caries. Caries is a demineralisation prosess and damage of hard tissue that influenced by host, diet, environment and time. Caries is an indicator of oral health as seen from the DMF-T index. Content ofPb, fluoride andpH in drinking water would indirectly be a riskfactor in causing dental caries. The purpose ofthis study was to see the relationship between Pb content, Fluor andpH in drinking water on DMF-T index on villagers Rasau River. The study included 85 sampleswhich is a resident living in the village wearing Rasau RiverMusiriver water as a source ofdrinking water and dental visits State ofteeth. In addition, residents are drinking water examined to determine the content ofPb, fluoride andpH in water before and afterprecipitated. The analysisin thisstudy using corelasi test. The resulls ofthis study indicate that there issignificcmt correlation between the content ofPb, fluoride and pH in drinking water on DMF-T index on villagers Rasau River (p < 0.05). This study concludes that there is a relationship between the content of Pb,fluoride andpH in drinking water on DMF-Tindex on villagers Rasau River.
