Abstract

Extraction in ortodontics remains a relativety controversial area. Mosi malocclusion caused by the unbalance between arch jaws and dental arch. To fixed this malocclusion in ortodontics treatment is by specific tooth extractiovu either m upper jaw or the lower jaw. The factors which affect the decision to extract inchtde the patient’s medical history, the attitude to treatment, oral hygiene, caries rates and the quality of teeth. The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence of tooth extraction, the type of malocclusion, and type of teeth that often extracted on patient’s undergoing fbced orthodontic treatment. This study was conducted by collecting data from patient’s medical record who were undergoing fbced orthodontic treatment during January 2005 - December 2009 time period Result from this study 52 % from all patient’s who had undergone fixed orthodontic treatment had one or several of their teeth extracted
