Abstract

This study aims to identify the impact of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policies on the happiness of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ilir Barat I District, Palembang City by using the happiness theory of Bruno Frey (2008). The theory consists of three aspects, namely income, individual characteristics, and economic conditions. This study uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of interviews and observations made that the implementation of the PSBB policy implemented in Palembang City had a negative impact on MSME actors in Ilir Barat I District, Palembang City, namely making their income / income decrease, sales were few, lost labor, there was no opportunity to open other businesses, as well as the absence of assistance from the government which makes it more difficult for MSME actors. This change in economic conditions causes MSME actors to tend to be less happy. The results of this study recommend that the government should pay attention to and consider other impacts caused by the PSBB policy. And the government should provide assistance or carry out business empowerment programs as an effort to restore the MSME economy so that they can survive and not go out of business.
