Abstract
Introduction: Approximately 12.5% (5.2 million) of children and adolescence have Noised Induced Threshold Shifts(NlTS) and approximately 17% (26 million) of Americans betM’een the ages of 20 and 69 have high frequency hearing loss due to exposure to loud sounds or noise at work or in leisure activities. Objective: This study is conducted to determine knowledge, attitude, and behavior of students that being exposed to noise at SMK Negeri 2 Palembang. Methods: This study is survey descriptive melhod with questionnaire. From 150 students at SMK Negeri 2 Palembang, there were 106 students as the sampel. Data w as taken by the filling of questionnaire to 106 students at SMK Negeri 2 Palembang during the month of December 2013. Result: In this study, as many as 32 students (30.2%) claimed to using hearing protectors during practicum and 74 students (69.8%) didn’t use any. As many as 35 students (33%) claimed that the type of noise they heard during practicum is continuous noise and 71 students (67%) claimed that they heard intermittent noise. Conclusion: Majority of students already had good knowledge about noise, majority of students didn 't use any hearing protectors during practicum, there is no policy about the usage of hearing protectors during practicum in SMK Negeri 2 Palembang.
