Abstract
The main challenge of school counselor in his practice is how to provide the best service to his students either those who meet him voluntarily or referred by teachers or parents. In asking this question, the school counselor analyzes the informal content expressed by counselee into formal content in the light of his theoretical orientation. By applying the theory he will try to formulate intervention model assumed appropriate to the counselee. In helping his counselee, the school counselor seeks intentionality either applying single theory or eclectic approach. However, since counseling is an idiosyncratic process, unique for person to person, the counselor has to develop personal theory of counseling by him self continuously. The theory would be compatible with his personality, belief system, values, and the grand theory discussed in many standard literatures. The counselor may develop his own personal theory by reflecting his current practice, exploring new counseling theories, examining the therories, integrating some part of the choosen theory, and personalizing them. Key Word: personal theory of counseling, intentionality, school counselor.
