Abstract

In fulfilling the coal specifications that consumers want, PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk uses a coal mixing system of two different types of coal to obtain the desired quality of coal. However, sometimes the blending process in the field does not reach maximum results. Therefore it is necessary to have a coal mixing device so that the coal produced meets the desired specifications. In this case the coal used is mine brand MT-46 (Muara Tiga Besar-46) and AL-55 (Air Laya-55), where the desired market brand product specifications are BA-50 (Bukit Asam-50). Before carrying out the coal blending process, Coal Blending Calculation was first planned using POM-QM V5 software for Windows Version 5.2. The results of the blending proportion of coal were 34% (AL-55) and 66% (MT-4). The coal tonnase that goes into the blending device is 20,000 kg, so that 13,200 kg of MT-46 coal and 6,800 kg of AL-55 coal are obtained. In this blending tool there are 3 different types of rotation (RPM), so that the 3 types of rounds are tested by taking into account the ash content, total sulfur and (gross calorific value) results obtained that the coal quality achieves optimum results at 5.74 rpm with coal calories by 5,982 cal / gr.
