Abstract

Knowledge management is considered as a systematic entity to expand, process and apply available knowledge by providing added value to the entity in achieving its objectives. This research develops the Knowledge Management System process with a hybrid between the Soft System Methodology and its holistic view and the Becerra methodology with its contingent views. The Becerra methodology looks at the problem by determining structured contingency factors, while the Soft System Methodology approach looks at the problem holistically to the problem, both structured and unstructured. The results of this study will get a KMS model that can be used as a reference for KMS development for universities in managing knowledge. The KMS features generated from this study consisted of chats, discussion forums, Online Libraries, and Document Management. The results of testing carried out on the KMS prototype got a value of 0.76. This means that the KMS model built in this study is a model that belongs to the good category.
