Abstract

Colibacillosis disease can affect egg quality because the disease causes a decrease in quail appetite, resulting in a lack of nutritional intake and inhibits ovarian development. Treatment using natural antibiotics aloe vera and guava leaves. This study aims to determine the effect of aloe vera and guava leaf extract supplementation on egg white index, egg yellow index and qual egg yellow color. This study used 100 quails aged 42 days. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications, consisting of: R0 (positive control) = E. coli + not supplemented, R1 (negative control) = not infected with E. coli + not supplemented, R2 = E. coli + supplemented with aloe vera extract (2%), R3 = E. coli + supplemented with aloe vera extract (4%), R4 = E. coli + supplemented with aloe vera (2%) + guava leaf (2%). The observed variables were egg white index, egg yellow index and qual egg yellow color. The results of this study indicated that supplementation of extracts of aloe vera and guava leaves in drinking water on quail had a significant (P<0.05) effect on qual egg yellow color, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on egg white index and egg yellow index. The conclusion of this study was that supplementation of aloe vera and guava leaf extract in quail was able to improve qual egg yellow color, but had not been able to improve egg white index and egg yellow index.
