Abstract

This study aims to test the Perfomance Test Of Rafts Using Electrical With Solar Panel As An Energy Source Battery. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, Indralaya Campus, Sriwijaya University. With details of the location of the Machinery and Workshop Laboratory and Pool for the Department of Soil Science, from May 2023 to July 2023. This study used an experimental method, presenting the results using descriptive data in the form of tables and graphs. This research method consists of several stages, namely literature study, observation, field data, planning and calculations, preparation of tools and materials, manufacture of a series of voltage chargers. The parameters used in this study included testing the speed of the raft, battery life and efficiency of charging the battery using electrical energy, the amount of energy that can be released by the battery, the power required by the outboard motor, speed of water and wind flow, and the solar panel efficiency. The results of this study indicate that the average peak speed on an average moving raft is 0.43 m/s or 1584 meters per hour and the fastest average travel time is 45.6 seconds with 9 trials with with a track length of 20 meters. The speed of the raft is 0.43 m/s where the raft uses an electric powered motor. Testing the performance of rafts made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes on speed, the best performance was obtained in the raft design which can be achieved when a load of 100 kg is applied so that the raft can travel at a maximum speed of 1,584 meters per hour or the equivalent of 1.5 kilometers per hour.
