Abstract

This research aims were to determine the fatty acids component in silver rasbora fish (Rasbora argyrotaenia) and catfish (Mystus nemurus CV). Fat content analysis by using soxhlet extraction method with hexane as a solvent indicated that oil; silver rasbora fish head parts (S1) = 30.11 %, silver rasbora fish body parts (S2) = 18,67 %, catfish meat head parts (B1) = 17,38 %, catfish meat body parts (B2) = 8.41%. The extraction method was done by using AOAC method with hexane solvent. The observed parameters including fatty acid analysis, using gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy. The results showed that extracted fatty acid analysis produced seven to eight types of fat acids that were found in each sample of fish: kaprilat (C8), kaprat (C10), laurat (C12), miristat (C14), palmitat (C16-0), stearat (C18-0), oleat (C18-1), linoleat (C18-2), linolenat (C18-3). In general, the highest fatty acid component in four sample is saturated fatty acid.
