Abstract

Reviewed from the flow mechanics, there are two streams of closed channel flow and open channel flow. These two kinds of streams in many ways have similarities but differ in one important provision. The difference is that the presence of free-flow open-channel surfaces has a free surface, while closed-channel flows do not have free surfaces as water fills the entire cross-section of the channel. Application of the use of pipes in irrigation systems and PDAM pipe (water supply area) can occur energy loss by several factors such as loss of energy due to different cross-section, energy loss due to connection, and loss of energy resulting from Pipe roughness value. Because there are factors of energy loss, it is done to build a physical model of siraman by comparing the height of the water shower produced directly in the field and theoretically. The high water shower obtained from the calculation results theoretically using the friction factor values of Moody diagrams and Swamee and Jain equations. The high calculation result of water shower in the field was obtained that for the highest high water shower occurred on the pipe closest to the water tank. And the lowest high shower height occurs on the most distant pipe of the water tank. The result of theoretical calculations that are closest to the research result in the field is the value of friction factor using Swamee and Jain equations. Keywords: Water Flow, Physical Model Flush, High Water Shower, Bernoulli Equations.
