Abstract

The development of technology at this time is greatly expanded in the used of an electric motor and the induction motor is one of the commonly used electric machines which is as the prime mover of machines in the industrial. That is because the induction motor has several superiorities, which are highly efficient simple, robust, and easy in maintenance. But in the industry generally requires an electric motor that adjust the motor speeds. To get a variation of the motor speed is not that simple. The control system commonly used a Variable Speed Drive (VSD) to control the three-phase induction motor speeds. The purpose of this study was to discuss the effect of frequency regulation toward the speed of a three-phase induction motor. The frequency changed from 10 Hz to 30 Hz and the motor rotation produced is very wide, which is 299 Rpm up to 899 Rpm. The results of this study are the changing of the frequency can affect the rotation speed of a three-phase induction motor. The higher the frequency data that is set, the faster the rotation of the induction motor will be changed.
