Abstract

The study aims to determine and measure the influence of the use of online store applications against the consumptive behavior of Sriwijaya University students. The methods used in this study are Quantitatid research methods with associative research properties. The mass media theory of Elisabeth Noelle-Neuman was the theory used in this study, stating that an active and conscious use of the mass media would result in the occurrence of mass media effects for individuals or users using it. In this study obtained data by spreading the research questionnaire to the 100 informant that meets the criteria. The results showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between the intensity of use of the online store application against the consumptive behavior of Sriwijaya University students with the Pearson Product Moment (rcount) hypothesis test of 0.562 which is greater than the Rtabel (0.256) with significance 0.01 and the result of Thitung > this or 6.728 > 1.980. Then known percentage of influence of intensity of use of online store application against the consumptive behavior of Sriwijaya University students is to calculate the coefficient of determination (R2) which obtained the result of 31.58%, which can be interpreted that 31.58% consumptive behavior is determined by the magnitude of use of online store application and 68.42% determined by other factors.
