Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of adding organic acid from fermented pineapple waste and leaves of Indigofera in drinking water to the digestion of dry matter, crude protein and crude fiber in broiler chickens. This research was conducted from April until May 2019 in cage experiment of the technology and industry of animal Husbandry study program and at the nutrition and feed laboratory, faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used a completely randomixed design (CRD) method with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment in this research is a combination of organic acid from fermented pineapple waste liquid and leaves Indigofera, P1 (Organic acid pineapple waste 100%), P2 (Organic acid pineapple waste 98% with 2% Indigofera leaves), P3 (organic acid waste pineapple 96% with 4% Indigofera leaves), P4 (Organic acid pineapple waste 94% with 6% Indigofera leaves), P5 (Organic acid pineapple waste 92% with 8% Indigofera leaves). The parameters observed were dry matter digestibility, crude protein and crude fiber. The results of this study indicate that liquid organic acid fermentation of pineapple waste and Indigofera leaves can improve the digestibility of dry matter, crude protein and crude fiber. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the addition of organic acid fermented pineapple waste liquid and leaves Indigofera in drinking water in broilers can improve the digestion of dry matter, digestion of crude protein and digestibility of crude fiber with the best composition of organic acids pineapple waste 92% and leaves Indigofera 8 %.
