Abstract

Quality Assurance (QA) is a monitoring that covers such tests and checks all production processes involved in the production of a product. The task of QA also ensures that all quality standards are met by each component of a product or service provided by the company to provide quality assurance according to the standards provided by the company. In system design, usually using a Content Management System (CMS). CMS is a system used to manage and facilitate the process of creating and publishing content together. Content management system is a software that provides tools / devices for creating, publishing and managing websites. The CMS used in this study is, using Joomla CMS. Researchers prefer Joomla CMS because Joomla is a content management system that can be used by anyone for the purpose of making a Website, from the very simple to the very complex Website. Joomla has a flexible, simple, elegant, customizable and powerful principle. The flow of research began with literature studies, from various journals and studying previous studies to find out what had been used in order to find space to contribute so that research could focus on one point. After knowing the points that will be made and what are the shortcomings, then proceed to the Development and Development of the System. The system design stage is done by looking for the source of the problems that occurred at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sriwijaya University Campus Palembang, regarding the difficulty of disseminating information. Then the data collection is done by collecting data related to this research, the data includes the academic activities of students per semester. Next, the data processing that has been obtained is designed in a database system. In designing this database using Microsoft Excel 2016, then the database that has been designed from Microsoft Excel 2016 will be converted into MySQL data (Structured query language) using SQLizer and programming in the form of a website. For website programming using Joomla's Content Management System (CMS) and first have activated xampp so that Joomla CMS can run. Then go to the results testing phase, testing the program made, whether the program is running well or not (Error). In this test used hardware in the form of computers and software in the form of web browsers, and operating systems. After the data in the web has been running well then it enters the operation and maintenance stage, this stage is the operation of the program for anyone who needs an information system that is created. In the operation also requires maintenance so that the program can continue to run well and be updated every time there is a change in data. Finally, Analysis of the results obtained from this study is that it can find out the Academic Activity of Students which includes the process of student activities during college at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sriwijaya University Campus Palembang, in the form of an information system website for students' activities in Mechanical Engineering Department, Sriwijaya University Palembang. With this Web-based Academic Quality Assurance, all student academic activities can be monitored clearly and completely. So that it can help facilitate the institution in developing and making the right decisions in a short time and accurate data.
