Abstract

The Blood vessels are an important part of the eyes in terms of eye diseases detection. Good analysis of blood vessels can facilitate medical personnel in visualizing the blood vessels of the retina. In this research, segmentation of blood vessels was proposed using the Niblack local thresholding method and morphological filters. The grey-scaled retina image obtained from the separation of green channels was then enhanced using the CLAHE and Top-Bottom-hat transform to obtain imagery with contrasts between the blood vessels and the more visible background. Blood vessel segmentation is conducted using Niblack Local Thresholding method to obtain binary image from blood vessel, terminated with noise clearance using median filter, remove small object and morphology closing. In this research using the STARE and DRIVE datasets. The parameter measurement results on the STARE dataset have an average value with 91.91% of accuracy, 50.99% sensitivity, 97.87% of specificity and 61.27% of F1-Score. The DRIVE DataSet 94.46% of accuracy, 56.61% of sensitivity, 98.65% of specificity and 67.01% of F1 Score.
