Abstract

This research discusses the Evaluation of the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) in Palembang City. The purpose of this study was to research the results of the Evaluation of the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) in Palembang City. This research method uses qualitative research with descriptive research. The technique for quoting data used in this study is library research and direct research which includes interviews, observations and documentation. The theory used in this study is the CIPP Evaluation Theory, which consists of four dimensions namely Context, Input, Process and Product. Based on the results of research it shows that the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program in Palembang City has been implemented, but it has not been maximally seen from the lack of public understanding of the criteria for receiving assistance and the provisions of the BSPS program due to unsustainable socialization activities, There are still many houses unfit for habitation in Palembang, seen from the failure to achieve the target of the BSPS program in 2016 and 2019 and most people do not have carpentry skills so they still on masons to improve the quality of their houses. This research suggests that the Department of Public Housing and Settlement Areas of Palembang City should conduct ongoing socialization evenly to low-income people by delivering information and the overall implementation mechanism of the BSPS. Second, it is hoped that there will be an increase in the aid budget every year, considering that there are still many houses that are unfit for habitation in Palembang City and the need for assistance to recipients of assistance related to improving the quality of their houses, considering that the BSPS program relies on community self-reliance in repairing houses.
