Abstract

Silage is a forage preservation method. The silage formulation principle is by maintaining the maximum vaccum condition in the silo. This study aimed to discover the effects of various inoculant utilization on fiber fraction content on Hymenchane Acutigluma. This study was conducted from August to November 2019 in the Nutrition and Forage Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The study used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted of four treatments and six repetitions. The treatments consisted of P0 (Hymenchane Acutigluma silage without inoculant addition), P1 (Hymenchane Acutigluma silage + 3% EM - 4), P2 (Hymenchane Acutigluma silage + 3% rumen solution), P3 (Hymenchane Acutigluma silage+ 3% rice washing water fermentation). The variables observed were Neutral Detergent Fiber, Acid Detergent Fiber, Hemicellulose, and Cellulose. The study result shows that treatments evidently affected (P<0.05) Neutral Detergent Fiber, Acid Detergent Fiber, Hemicellulose, and Cellulose. The study conclusion is that the treatment of silage of Hymenchane acutigluma inoculated with a 3% rumen solution generated the best fermentation quality than other treatments because it resulted in NDF 50.84%, ADF 27.49%, Hemicellulose 23.33%, and Cellulose 25.01%.
