Abstract

GRACE SHINTA DEWI. The effect of the addition of liquid organic acid resulting from fermentation of pineapple waste and Indigofera zollingeriana in drinking water on the quality of carcass and internal organs of broiler chickens. (Supervised by RIZKI PALUPI and FITRI NOVA LIYA LUBIS). This study aims to determine the quality of carcass and internal organs of broiler chickens with the addition of liquid organic acid from fermentation of pineapple waste andleaves Indigofera zollingeriana in drinking water. This research was conducted for 4 weeks from September to October 2019 at the Experimental Cage Laboratory of the Animal Husbandry Technology and Industry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The livestock used in this study were 60 broilers. The rations used were Broiler Starter BR 1 Crumble. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Treatment: P1 = (Control), P2 = Giving 5% organic acid from fermented pineapple waste andleaves Indigofera zollingeriana in drinking water, P3 = Giving 10% liquid organic acid from fermentation of pineapple waste andleaves Indigofera zollingeriana in drinking water, P4 = giving 15% liquid organic acid from fermentation of pineapple waste andleaves Indigofera zollingeriana in drinking water. The variables observed included live weight, carcass percentage, ventricular weight percentage, liver weight percentage and small intestine length. The results showed that the addition of liquid organic acid from fermentation of pineapple waste andleaves Indigofera zollingeriana in drinking water had a significant effect (P <0.05) on live weight and carcass percentage. The addition of liquid organic acid from fermented pineapple waste andleaves Indigofera zollingeriana in drinking water had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the percentage of ventricular weight, percentage of liver weight and small intestine length.
