Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the material in the textbook for students with the sub-theme How the Body Processes Clean Air, the sub-theme The Importance of Clean Air for Breathing, the sub-theme Maintaining the Health of Human Respiratory Organs is in accordance with the basic competencies of the 2013 curriculum. 5th grade elementary school students with the theme Clean Air for Health, publisher of the revised 2017 edition of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The data collection technique used is the documentation technique. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative which includes three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the suitability of basic competencies with the subtheme material How the Body Processes Clean Air was 80.88% with a very appropriate category, the suitability of basic competencies with the sub-theme material Importance of Clean Air for Breathing 75.49% with the appropriate category, the suitability of basic competencies with the sub-theme material Maintaining Human Respiratory Organ Health 75% with the appropriate category. From the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that the suitability of basic competencies with the material in the 2013 curriculum integrated thematic textbooks for grade V elementary school students with the theme Clean Air for Health, the publisher of the revised 2017 edition of the Ministry of Education and Culture as a whole gets a percentage of 77% with the appropriate category, so the book is can be used as a guide for students during the learning process.
